The address of the Courthouse is:
United States Bankruptcy Court
Long Island Federal Courthouse
290 Federal Plaza
Central Islip, NY 11722
The Bankruptcy Court is located within the
Cohalan Court Complex in Central Islip. Within the
Cohalan complex, you go to the Federal
Courthouse. (Do not go to the building for the
Family Court, the Supreme Court, or the District
Court).
The Federal Courthouse is sometimes referred to
as: 290 Federal Plaza; 560 Federal Plaza; The
Alphonse D'Amato Courthouse-- they are all the
same building.
The Federal Courthouse is a huge white building--
it sticks out like a sore thumb from all of the other
buildings in the court complex.
The Federal Courthouse is near the Long Island
Ducks Stadium.
If coming you are taking the Southern State
Parkway, get off at Exit 43A-- the Federal
Courthouse is right by exit 43A. (You can see the
Federal Courthouse as soon as you get off the
exit). Follow signs to the Court and its parking lot.
The Federal Courthouse can also be reached by
taking Carleton Avenue-- If you are heading south,
you go through downtown Central Islip and follow
the signs for the Cohalan Court Complex. (It is
right by Carleton Avenue and the Southern State
Parkway).
PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT CELL PHONES
MAY NOT BE BROUGHT INTO THE BUILDING.
If you are going for the chapter 7 or chapter 13
bankruptcy trustee meeting, you will be going to
either courtroom 561 or 563-- on the fifth floor.
VERY IMPORTANT!
Remember that for the chapter 7 or chapter 13
trustee meeting, you must bring with you your
driver's license and Social Security card for ID.
